New Delhi. Former Indian fast bowler Javagal Srinath expressed happiness over the appointment of his teammate and veteran spinner Anil Kumble as a coach, saying that the team will achieve tremendous success during his tenure. The Cricket Control Board of India (BCCI) has selected 45-year-old Kumble from the 57 candidates for the post of coach. Both Srinath and Kumble have played together for the legendary national team and Karnataka state team.
Kumble will be seen playing his responsibility for the first time against the West Indies as a coach. Srinath has been one of India’s most successful fast bowlers and is also very active as a match referee. Talking about Kumble’s appointment, Srinath said, “It is a personal pleasure for me because my old partner has got this responsibility and there is a great demand for this position in world cricket.”
Former Indian fast bowler Srinath said, “The Cricket Advisory Committee has taken a good decision and I am very happy with it.” He has chosen the right person for this post. As a captain and player, Kumble has always loved challenges. I am confident that he will also be very successful as a coach and will force the BCCI to extend his tenure.
Kumble has special experience in coaching and administration. He played the mentors of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Apart from this, he played the role of President of the Cricket Committee of the International Cricket Council (ICC), then the BCCI made him coach for a year.
